Privacy notice
Last updated 13 October 2026. This covers the waitlist on budgetabroad.com. The bot and dashboard get their own notice when early access opens.
Who's responsible
Chris Burdick, through Polymetric, LLC, a US company. Questions, corrections, and deletions: hello@budgetabroad.com.
What I collect when you join the waitlist
- Your email address.
- Whatever you choose to answer: home currency, how you track spending now, which chat apps you use, what it would be worth to you, and the free-text note. All optional.
- Which link brought you here (a tag in the URL, or the site that linked to you), the country your connection appears to come from, and the time you signed up.
Please don't put account numbers or anything sensitive in the free-text fields.
What I use it for
- To email you when early access opens, or to tell you I've stopped building it. No newsletter, no marketing list, no third-party mail.
- To decide whether to build the product: I read the answers to see who wants it and what it's worth to them.
I rely on your consent for the email and on my own legitimate interest in running the test for the rest. Reply to any email, or write to hello@, to withdraw it.
Where it's kept and who can see it
Signups are stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, Cloudflare's storage service. Cloudflare keeps copies in its data centers around the world, so your record may sit outside your country. Nobody sees the list but me. I never sell it, share it, or hand it to anyone else.
Visits
The page counts visits per day and per source. The count holds no personal data. Your browser keeps a flag for the session so one visit counts once. Google Analytics also runs on the site: it sets cookies and sends Google your IP address and page activity. Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees your browser's request for them.
How long I keep it
Until early access is over, or until you ask me to delete you, whichever comes first. If I decide not to build it, I email everyone once and delete the list.
When the app opens
Your entries sit in a private database on a server in the US. Nobody looks at them unless you ask for help. Nothing connects to your bank. To understand texts, voice notes and photos, the bot sends them to a language-model service that works out what you meant; I only use services that don't learn from what you send. Exchange rates and the amounts it logs are calculated by ordinary code. Telegram stores bot chats on its servers, like any chat. You can export everything, and one email deletes it all within 7 days. The app gets its own full notice before it opens.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what I hold, correct it, or have it deleted. One email to hello@budgetabroad.com does it, within 7 days. If you're in the EU or UK and think I've handled your data badly, you can complain to your data protection authority.
